Our Story ...

Exploring creative processes, getting our hands messy, and approaching art making in a playful way can boost our wellbeing and is something we don’t have space to do nearly enough as adults...

Hello! We are Tasha and Gemma, we are passionate about encouraging people of all ages and abilities to engage in creative play and have founded Creatopia Club with a mission to do just that!  We are passionate about offering the opportunity for people to come together with like minded souls, get creative and learn new skills.  We want to show you that you don’t have to consider yourself an ‘artist’ to enjoy making art!

We are artists with backgrounds in community arts, education & mental health support - and we are firm believers in the power of play! We all know how important play is for children and their development ... but what about for adults?  We feel that playfulness and creativity come hand-in-hand, and are an essential aid for wellbeing and social connection.

All of our workshops are designed to be suitable for all abilities to enjoy - wether you are a professional artist or a complete beginner, you can enjoy exploring an art-making process with us in a fun and relaxed environment.  Let us guide you step-by-step as we work with tactile and therapeutic materials that will let your creativity flow ...

We offer sessions at our Bristol studio as well as travelling to you at a location of your choice.  We offer community sessions that are open to the public and are also available for private bookings for workplace wellbeing events and arty parties.

About Us

Tasha Bee

Founder & Director

Hello! My name is Tasha and I am a community artist with a background in working with vulnerable groups in the community, using art to aid wellbeing and improve social connection.  I am really passionate about empowering people to embrace their creativity and enjoy the process of making art, whatever medium that may be!

After spending 5 years of working as a group facilitator and project leader for a range of different charities and organisations, I set up my own small business in 2019 - Pot Heads Pottery, where I began to host fun, playful workshops which make the therapeutic nature of working with clay accessible to everyone.  The Pot Head movement has grown and grown over the years and I have loved seeing so many people engage with my workshops and enjoy getting creative with clay! I have co-founded Creatopia with Gemma as we would both like to offer more workshops with playfulness at their core, and I feel I have many more creative passions to share with the world :)

Gemma Gale

Co-founder & Facilitator

Hello! My name is Gemma... I am a crafty queen with a huge interest in fiber arts. Curious for all things crafty I found a love for macramé during lockdown... The mindful elements of this practice helped me power through some difficult times and I felt called to start to share the process with others. I've been running macramé workshops for the past 2 years and have unravelled the process into a series of basic steps that can be mastered by all.  I love holding space for groups of people and helping them get into their creative flow - so I'm super excited to come together with Tasha to bring more creativity in to the world!

I have a background in education and am a qualified teacher.  My favourite workshops to teach with Creatopia are macrame, fluid art and pottery.

Charise Clarke

Workshop Facilitator

Hi there, my name is Charise and I am a self taught marbler, crafter and creator of all sorts. To me, art has always been so therapeutic... The one place I can get so engrossed in an activity that everything else goes quiet. As a child, art was my safe place and always has been. I’m a firm believer that you don’t have to be an ‘artist’ to create art, we are all artists. This is what I love so much about marbling, its relaxing and meditative. You are playing with colour till you like what you see. You’re not stressing about drawing something really precise. I want to share this love with others, nothing brings me more joy than seeing how happy a workshop attendee is with their creations.

I started working with Creatopia in 2024 and am looking forward to hosting lots more workshops in the future!
